Sir/Madam,

The country is now witnessing a troubling pattern, Dr Tim Harris has launched a fierce campaign against the current administration and the Special Sustainability Zone (SSZ) project, even though his own years in office were marked by failure, corruption, and self-enrichment. It is deeply ironic that the man who did so little to advance national development is now trying to discredit those who are finally delivering progress.

During his seven years as Prime Minister, Dr. Harris built a political empire around himself, not around the people. Key government positions were handed to his relatives and loyalists, while lucrative public contracts routinely went to those within his inner circle. Instead of empowering citizens, he concentrated power and opportunity among a few, while the wider nation was left behind.

The record is undeniable: during Team Unity’s tenure, no major development project was completed, no transformative infrastructure emerged, and no meaningful legislation was passed to uplift ordinary people. The only real “growth” was in the personal fortunes of those closest to Harris.

Now that the current administration is returning land to citizens, attracting investment, creating jobs, and modernising infrastructure, Dr. Harris appears determined to undermine that progress. Using the wealth and influence accumulated during his time in power — much of it believed to have been gained through political favouritism — he is financing misinformation and propaganda designed to mislead the public.

This is not legitimate political criticism; it is political obstruction, funded by ill-gotten gains. The loudest critics today are the very people who failed the nation yesterday. Their campaign is not about defending the public interest — it is about shielding themselves from accountability.

St Kitts and Nevis is moving forward, and those who once profited from stagnation must not be allowed to drag the nation backward.
